The Romans came to Spain in 206 BC. Pleased with the wealth of the Iberian
Peninsula, they stayed for 700 years. It took 200 years to conquer Spain and
divide it into provinces, with Betica corresponding roughly to what is now
called Andalucia.
However, it is doubtful that any of these people settled in the La Quinta
region; as this is really a relatively new development made popular by the ample
golf courses built in the last two decades. La Quinta Golf Course was designed
by Antonio Garcia Garrido and the former Ryder player and three-times World
champion Manuel Pinero.
A Golfer's dream La Quinta offers 27 championship holes, distributed in three
nine-hole golf courses. The Costa motorway providing a distant hum as it
stretches over the La Quinta golf range.
The region is very peaceful and offers an array of flora and fauna. As far as
the eye can carry, peruse green courses interspersed by small urbanisations and
