WHY THE ALGARVE AND PORTUGAL
Portugal is our longest serving ally and there is no doubt that this is
reflected in the warmth of welcome given by the Portuguese to those
deciding to make a home and invest in the beautiful country.
The Algarve has now become the favourite area of investment for the
British and Irish, over 50,000 homes being owned by Northern Europeans.
At the most Southern part of the country, the Algarve was the last
region to be retaken from the Moors in the 13th Century. Evidence of
this is apparent in the unique architecture, terraces, chimneys and
whitewashed houses. Now the Algarve is full of contrasts, quaint
villages still living comfortably in the past sit comfortably alongside
magnificent championship golf course and luxury developments.
The hills of Espinhacao de Cao shelter the coast from strong winds
helping to create the perfect climate delivering over 3000 hours of
sunshine a year from a pleasant 30 degrees in August to a comfortable 16
degrees in the winter, perfect for all year golf!
The coastline benefi ts from long stretches of golden sandy beaches
punctuated with rugged cliffs and beautiful grottos.
Apart from the wealth of water sports facilities there are luxury
marinas, ports and harbours all within easy reach of coastal residents.
The Algarve is famous for its golf, it probably has more famous
championship courses in the region than anywhere else in the world!
"Owning a property in the Algarve has become an excellent proposition,
it has been voted within the top three property investment areas in
Europe in the past two years by the popular" Place in the Sun TV
programme of Channel 4.
Only two and a half hours away from the UK and Ireland and served by
numerous airlines including the top, low cost operators, the Algarve is
within easy reach. Flights being to Faro at the heart of the coast, no
resort being a long drive away.
The cost of living is low yet the standard is high, the cuisine being
amongst the finest and most healthy in Europe. The EU has made a
significant difference to the area, in the past years the infrastructure
has shown tremendous improvement.
Properties are very well constructed and consistently show good capital
growth. Developers are now well experienced in creating products to suit
the English and Irish markets, so you can be sure that there will be a
property to suit you. The facilities and popularity of the coast make it
an excellent opportunity to create rental income.
