Santa Clara is an urbanised golf resort located on the eastern side of
Marbella,
in the Costa del Sol. It is in close proximity to the Los Monteros urbanisation.
It is within walking distance of the centre of Marbella and a 10 minute journey
to the luxurious area of
Puerto Banus. Santa Clara is also home to the rather
large Costa del Sol Hospital.
Main Tourist Attractions
This resort is a haven for golfers and many of the apartments are in close
proximity to the Santa Clara Golf Club. This club has an 18 hole golf course and
a golfing school for those who wish to learn the sport. There are also several
other golf courses in the surrounding area including Marbella Golf and Rio Real.
A choice of beaches are within walking distance of the area and they provide
visitors the opportunity to sit in the sun or enjoy some watersports. You will
find lots to do and see in the central and Old Town parts of Marbella which is
less than a 5 minute journey from Santa Clara. Indulge in some 16th century
architecture, enjoy a drink in one of the squares or simply relax in one of the
lush, green parks. The 15 minute journey to Puerto Banus provides even more
activities including a marine observatory and a multiplex cinema.
Shopping Opportunities
Santa Clara Golf Club allows golfers to buy all the equipment they need to play
the game well. As the district is so close to the heart of Marbella you will
find an abundance of shops that sell a myriad of items including clothing, toys,
pottery, art, electrical goods, jewellery, perfume and hardware. Marbella’s
Golden Mile is within a short distance and offers the chance to splash out on
some designer labels. La Canada shopping centre is also within close proximity
to Santa Clara and is a shopper’s paradise, with over 150 shops and boutiques to
choose from.
Eating out and Nightlife
There is a wealth of cafés, restaurants and bars to be found in Santa Clara and
the immediate surroundings. They cater for all tastes from the authentic Spanish
dishes to international cuisine from Mexico, Japan, Britain and France. Many of
the cafés and bars will serve the traditional Tapas as well as offering a range
of refreshing local beers and wines. Several of the bars will provide
entertainment in the form of cabarets, live music and karaoke.
There are no discos or nightclubs in Santa Clara resort but these can be found
in the centre of Marbella and at nearby Puerto Banus. A typical Santa Clara
evening is spent browsing the area and soaking in the warmth and relaxing
atmosphere. You can then have a glass of wine and a bite to eat with some of the
local residents until the early hours. If you are feeling flush you may want to
take to the tables at the stunning casino in Puerto Banus.
