Main Tourist Attractions

Many of the apartments and villas in Los Pacos are close to the beaches of Fuengirola. For sun worshippers, a short stroll and you can be sunning yourself on beautiful sandy shorelines. Activities such as fishing, diving, jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing are widely available. There are several golf courses within the immediate area of the district including Naranjas and Mijas Golf. Fuengirola is also home to an open air zoo, which houses over 40 species of animals in their natural environment. The children will love the water parks in Fuengirola and nearby Mijas, which have many slides and water based activities. For those who love their history, Fuengirola offers the chance to visit Solhail Castle; thought to have previous forts built on the site through the years, the current building dates from the 15th century. There is a cinema in Fuengirola’s shopping centre and horse riding, quad biking and jeep safaris are available to enjoy in the surrounding area.

Shopping Opportunities

Los Pacos has several shops in the area which cater for the everyday needs and holiday essentials for visitors. You can also pick up items such as toys, art, pottery and souvenirs. The urbanised area is conveniently located for the El Cortes Ingles department store, where shoppers will be in absolute paradise. Fuengirola’s Miramar shopping centre is a ten minute walk away and provides opportunities to buy items such as clothing, jewellery perfume, ceramics, shoes, leather goods, electrical items and cosmetics. Fuengirola is noted for its market held every Tuesday morning on the outskirts of the town and is a great place to pick up a bargain. Other shopping opportunities can be found in Marbella, Puerto Banus and Mijas.

Eating out and Nightlife

There are many restaurants, bars and cafés to choose from in the Los Pacos district. Alongside the typical Andalucian delicacies, you will find a host of international cuisine available. The nearby district of Los Boliches also has a number of eateries, including a great vegetarian restaurant.
