Los Monteros is an urban development located around the prominent Los Monteros
Hotel. It is situated in the east end of
Marbella and is approximately 15
minutes from the heart of Marbella. The area of Los Monteros has grown in
popularity due to it being the location of holiday homes for several Hollywood
celebrities.
Main Tourist Attractions
Los Monteros sits right on the coast and so clean and sandy beaches are not far
away. You can choose to relax on the beach or participate in watersports
including surfing, sailing and parasailing. The beaches are an excellent choice
for children as the water is shallow and free from rocks. There are several
chinguritos (beach bars) dotted along the sands for you to enjoy some food and
drink whilst relaxing. This area is a haven for golfers as there are several
courses in the surrounding area including Santa Clara and Rio Real. Historic and
family-orientated attractions can be found by commuting the short distance to
the Old Town or centre of Marbella. You will find quaint squares, 16th century
architecture, art galleries and plenty of gardens to spend the hot days in the
shade. For walkers, hikers and mountain bikers, the backdrop to Marbella, La
Concha mountain, is just a short distance away.
Shopping Opportunities
There are several shops located in the Los Monteros area which mainly cater for
the essentials for residents and visitors. You may find some of the shops have
authentic Spanish gifts and souvenirs on offer. Shopaholics will find Los
Monteros a great starting point and can continue on to the large shopping centre
at nearby
Puerto Banus; alternatively Marbella’s Golden Mile with its designer
names and expensive boutiques is just a stone’s throw away. You can purchase
many items including jewellery, clothing, shoes, handbags, sunglasses and much
more.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are several restaurants, cafés and bars within the area serving an array
of Spanish and international dishes. Some establishments offer fine dining with
extensive menus and a plethora of drinks. The cafés and bars will have Tapas on
tap as well as a choice of local beers.
There are no discos or nightclubs within Los Monteros but these establishments
are easily accessible with a short journey to the centre of Marbella. You will
also find these facilities and a casino at the marina in Puerto Banus, which are
all open until the early hours of the morning.
