Los Flamingos is a beautiful and opulent development situated between
Marbella and
Estepona. It has a mix of stunning, upmarket villas, apartments and
townhouses which all offer views of the golf course and the sea. The developers
ensure that each property has a certain amount of space and it is not crowded
like some other resorts. Los Flamingos is the perfect setting for some peace and
tranquillity but is within easy reach of the major attractions the region has to
offer.
Main Tourist Attractions
Los Flamingos has its own championship golf courses, designed by Antonio Garcia
Garrido, which offer challenging rounds to keen players of the game. There are
also swimming pools and spa facilities to aid its visitors rest and relaxation.
Other sporting facilities available in the immediate area include tennis,
squash, horse riding, mountain biking and bowls. Estepona has a small bullring
which hosts concerts during the absence of the controversial sport. There are
four museums attached to the bullring which offer information and artefacts that
relate to the local area. Estepona also has some lovely beaches where visitors
can relax or do some sailing, jet skiing or parasailing. Marbella provides
visitors with attractions such as important historical buildings and ruins,
ornate churches and green space to read or unwind.
Shopping Opportunities
There are currently no shops within the Los Flamingos area, but visitors only
have to take a short walk to reach these amenities. Estepona has two main
shopping areas, namely the Calle Terraza and the Calle Real. Here you can
purchase a range of items including designer clothing, shoes, jewellery,
ceramics, pottery and embroidered linen. Marbella has an abundance of shops
including the La Canada shopping centre located on the outskirts of the town.
The Golden Mile in Marbella is a shopaholic’s dream with an abundance of
designer boutiques and international fashion houses to explore. Nearby
Puerto Banus has a shopping centre at the marina and a host of fashionable
boutiques.
Eating out and Nightlife
Los Flamingos has a beach café which can be used by patrons of the 5 star hotel
in the heart of the district. There are plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants to
be found in Estepona, Marbella and Puerto Banus, with many of the fine dining
restaurants found at the marina in Puerto Banus. Most of the establishments
offer a range of Spanish cuisine as well as a myriad of dishes from countries
around the world.
There are no discos or nightclubs in Los Flamingos; evenings are spent taking in
the views from the opulent villas and apartments with a carafe of local wine.
For those who need a livelier atmosphere, Marbella and Puerto Banus have a
buzzing night scene, with many clubs and discos open until the early hours.
Puerto Banus also has one of the few casinos in the area.
