Los Boliches is a popular urbanised area in the busy resort town of
Fuengirola,
which is a forty minute journey from Malaga. This is a popular district with
ex-pats and is a peaceful area with many luxurious and modern villas. It is
centrally located in Fuengirola for all the major tourist attractions, but is a
haven of tranquillity amid the buzz of the resort.
Main Tourist Attractions
Los Boliches has its own sandy beach which is a short walk from many of the
district’s villas and apartments. Here visitors can simply laze in the sun or
take part in water sports such as diving, parasailing, jet skiing and
windsurfing. Golfers can enjoy a round or two on several courses within a short
driving distance. Fuengirola attractions include a cinema which is located in
the main shopping centre, an open air zoo and a water park. Nearby
Mijas has a
small bullring and an Equestrian centre which hosts some spectacular displays.
Fifteen minutes to the east is the village of
Arroyo de la Miel, home to the
Tivoli World theme park. There are over 30 attractions in the park that will
appeal to those in their first and second childhoods!
Shopping Opportunities
Los Boliches is perfectly located for the shopaholics in the group. It is a five
minute walk from the El Cortes Ingles department store and ten minutes from the
Miramar shopping centre. In both these precincts you will find items such as
gift, clothing, toys, jewellery, leather goods, hats, shoes, bags, electrical
goods and fine art. Marbella’s Golden Mile is just a short drive away and offers
expensive boutiques and designer fashion outlets. Fuengirola has a street market
every Tuesday morning where you can practice your haggling skills and pick up a
bargain.
Eating out and Nightlife
The district has an array of cafés, bars and restaurants to enjoy a drink or a
delicious meal. Los Boliches also has one of the few vegetarian restaurants in
the area. As well as the typical Spanish delights, visitors can choose from a
range of international cuisine from countries such as Britain, France and Italy.
Los Boliches is a quiet area, where you can relax with a bottle of wine on the
patio of an evening. You are also close enough to take the short walk to the
many nightclubs, live venues and discos of Fuengirola, to dance until the early
hours.
