Las Chapas 

Las Chapas is an urbanised area that is located between Elviria and Los Monteros in Marbella. It was erected in the 1980’s and was a former timeshare development. As well as various villas and apartments which are in the process of being upgraded, several luxurious and secluded villas can be found towards the edge of this area.

Main Tourist Attractions

Las Chapas has its own beach which is clean and has beautifully soft sand. There are several chinguritos (beach bars) located along the stretch of beach and a variety of watersports available such as water skiing, jet skiing and sailing. Nearby Elviria is home to the famous Nikki Beach were you can Spend the day relaxing on the beach and perhaps catch a glimpse of celebrities. Las Chapas also has several golf courses and many more are within easy reach of the development. Other sports facilities in the immediate area include tennis, squash, swimming and badminton. The children will love Funny Beach in Las Chapas which is an activity centre with go-karts, trampolines, pinball machines and miniature golf. If you wish to take the trip to the centre of Marbella you will find a myriad of plazas (squares) to sit and enjoy some food, some 16th century architecture to admire and plenty of green areas to shade from the midday heat.

Shopping Opportunities

Las Chapas has several supermarkets and general stores where you will find the essential day-to-day holiday items you need. Shopaholics can enjoy a serious day of retail therapy in nearby Elviria. It has two shopping centres which offer items such as clothing, jewellery, watches, sunglasses, toys, pottery, linen, souvenirs and footwear. To the east of Las Chapas is the Marbella Golden Mile which is renowned for its designer fashion boutiques and expensive stores. Serious shoppers will find a variety of designer label clothing as well as watches, perfumes, handbags, leather goods, shoes, sunglasses and electrical goods which will keep them busy for the entire holiday.

Eating out and Nightlife

There are several cafés, bars and restaurants to be found in the Las Chapas area, many of which serve a mixture of authentic Spanish dishes and international cuisine, from countries such as Britain, Italy and France. Los Monteros also offers the chance to experience some fine dining at restaurants offering a host of dishes which can be washed down with some flavoursome local wine. Elviria has bars and restaurants, some of which have live entertainment and karaoke available.

For a night out that includes discos or nightclubs, the centre of Marbella and Puerto Banus are a short journey away; you can also visit the casino at Puerto Banus if you are feeling flush.
