La Campana is a beautiful urbanisation located in
Nueva Andalucia area, close to
Puerto Banus and
San Pedro de Alcantara. It is a large area and has been designed to reflect
a typical Andalucian village. It is a popular location with many of the locals
and is a close nit and fairly self sufficient community.
Main Tourist Attractions
The opportunity to play golf is very apparent in this location. La Campana is
surrounded by several popular and championship golf courses that present
challenges to the most astute golfer. Other sporting activities available in the
immediate area include volleyball, squash, tennis and horse riding. Due to its
proximity to the mountain ranges, it is an excellent base from which to set out
for some hiking, walking and mountain biking. It is a short journey to some
beautiful beaches and to the large marina at nearby Puerto Banus. There is also
a marine observatory with some exotic sealife and a multiplex cinema which shows
films in several languages.
Marbella is a quick bus ride away and has many ancient buildings to admire
and green spaces to relax in. The children will also love Funny Beach in
Marbella; here they can go trampolining, go-karting or enjoy some arcade games.
Shopping Opportunities
La Campana has some shops and supermarkets where visitors and residents can pick
up everyday or holiday essentials. The centre of the Nueva Andalucia district
has its own shopping centre where you can purchase items such as shoes, leather
goods, clothing, pottery, art, gifts and toys. Puerto Banus has a larger
shopping centre near its marina and is filled with designer outlets and
fashionable stores. Marbella’s Golden Mile is world renowned and attracts all of
the millionaires and celebrities. It is lined with boutiques and international
brands and is a shopaholic’s dream. Many shops in the Old Town part of Marbella
are family run businesses that offer the chance to purchase some traditional
Spanish clothing.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are many restaurants and cafés dotted around La Campana and they offer a
myriad of dishes, from Spain and other countries. The commercial centre in Nueva
Andalucia also has many bars, cafés and restaurants to stop for a bite to eat
after a busy day. Puerto Banus has some exquisite fine dining establishments
down by the marina.
There are no discos or nightclubs in the area, which means evenings are
perfectly quiet and can be enjoyed with a bottle of wine in a small cafe or on
the terrace. For the dancers in the group, there are many nightclubs, bars and
discos to be found in both Marbella and Puerto Banus. There is also a casino in
Puerto Banus which provides live entertainment during the summer months.
