The urbanisation of Guadalmina Baja is located next to the village of
Guadalmina
and the Guadalmina Golf resort. It sits approximately 2 kilometres from
San Pedro de Alcantara and approximately 12 kilometres from the heart of
Marbella. It is a peaceful area with a traditional Spanish feel and a close
knit community. It is the ideal location for a tranquil holiday but is close
enough to all of the major attractions that are available in this part of the
Costa del Sol.
Main Tourist Attractions
Guadalmina Baja is popular with visitors due to its proximity to some lovely
beaches. A short stroll from your apartment will present the opportunity to bask
in the glorious sunshine or test your skills on a jet ski. Other water sports
including parasailing, diving and surfing are available. Golfers will love the
area as it is a stone’s throw away from the Guadalmina Golf resort which has two
18 hole courses and a practice green. San Pedro de Alcantara is steeped in
history and has an ancient necropolis and a 6th century basilica to explore.
Marbella provides the chance to sit and relax in some lush green parks or wander
the traditional Spanish cobbled streets in the Old Town.
Puerto Banus has a large marina which is worth a look, as well as a cinema
and a marine observatory with many exotic species of sealife.
Shopping Opportunities
Guadalmina Baja is perfectly located to access the Guadalmina shopping centre,
where you will find a host of small shops and supermarkets. As well as the
opportunity to buy items such as clothing, shoes, toys and souvenirs, there is a
market held in the shopping centre every Sunday. Puerto Banus has a larger
shopping centre and a range of designer shops and boutiques near to its marina.
Marbella’s Old Town has a quaint range of family run businesses selling gifts
and traditional Spanish clothing. No shopaholic will bypass Marbella’s Golden
Mile which has some of the biggest brand names around the world, housed in
opulent outlets and fashionable boutiques.
Eating out and Nightlife
A five minute walk from Guadalmina Baja takes you to a range of cafés bars and
restaurants in San Pedro de Alcantara. Here you will find many authentic Spanish
dishes alongside some favoured international ones. Guadalmina village has some
restaurants and cafés located inside the shopping centre and the beaches have
chiringuitos (beach bars) for you to grab a bite to eat.
As the emphasis is on providing a quiet location, Guadalmina Baja does not have
any discos or nightclubs. Most evenings are spent wandering the streets, getting
to know the residents and sharing a bottle of fine wine. For those who love a
more vibrant scene, there are plenty of clubs and discos located in Marbella and
Puerto Banus. Puerto Banus is also home to one of the few casinos in the region.
