Carib Playa is an urbanised area located in the vicinity of
Las Chapas, another
urbanised area in
Marbella. It is full of luxurious villas and apartments and is
only 10 minutes from the heart of Marbella and 25 minutes from the nearby resort
of Fuengirola. Carib Playa is a perfect base to enjoy all of the activities and
attractions in the immediate area and is considered one of the best districts to
settle long term due to its superb community and facilities.
Main Tourist Attractions
The area is awash with professional and championship golf courses that lovers of
the game will enjoy immensely. Several courses including Cabopino Golf and Santa
Maria Golf venues are within short walking distance of Carib Playa. There are
several beaches within easy reach, where visitors can soak up the sun or take
part in water sports including jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing. Marbella
has the Old Town quarter, where you can admire the architecture and history of
many ancient buildings or take a break under a tree in the green areas and
simply watch the world go by. The children will enjoy Funny Beach, which offers
arcade games, trampolining and go-karting. Fuengirola has an open air zoo with
over 40 species of animals. There is also a water park with adventurous slides
for children of all ages. On the east side of Marbella is the millionaire’s
playground,
Puerto Banus, which has a breathtaking marina, a multiplex cinema
and a marine observatory.
Shopping Opportunities
There are several small shops and supermarkets situated within Carib Playa,
which will provide the holiday essentials for visitors and residents. Marbella’s
Golden Mile is a short trip away and is a perfect day out for shopaholics. Here
you can buy many designer items including internationally known clothes brands,
jewellery, perfume and watches. Puerto Banus has a large shopping centre where
you will find many items to buy under one roof. It also has many fashionable
boutiques and expensive outlets along the marina. Fuengirola has the Miramar
commercial shopping centre and holds regular street markets where you can pick
up many bargains and the best souvenirs of your trip.
Eating out and Nightlife
Carib Playa has several bars, restaurants and cafés as well as many chiringuitos
(beach bars) dotted along the sands. The menus serve up a mixture of traditional
Spanish food and international cuisine from countries such as Britain, France
and Mexico.
Evenings are peaceful in this area but should you wish for a more lively night
out, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Fuengirola have many bars, nightclubs and discos
to enjoy. Puerto Banus also has a casino which puts on live entertainment during
the months of summer.
