Cabopino is an urbanised area located approximately halfway between
Marbella and
Fuengirola. The apartments, townhouses and villas are all built in the
traditional whitewashed style with prominent red tile roofs. Cabopino has its
own small harbour which is filled with stylish yachts alongside traditional
fishing boats. Cabopino is the perfect location for a relaxing and tranquil
holiday; yet it is centrally located to enjoy all that the region has to offer.
Main Tourist Attractions
The Cabopino area has its own golf course, Cabopino Golf, so lovers of the game
can enjoy a challenging round or two. There are several other championship
courses in the immediate area including Santa Maria and La Siesta Golf Clubs.
After exploring the marina, visitors can choose to walk over the sandy dunes or
spend the day relaxing on the beach. Cabopino is also one of the few nudist
beaches in the area. There are several opportunities to do water sports
including jet skiing, windsurfing and parasailing. You can also go on a dolphin
watching trip from Cabopino. Taking a short drive into Fuengirola, visitors will
find an open air zoo, a multiplex cinema, a water park and an Enduro motorbike
safari.
Shopping Opportunities
The area has several shops which serve the local community and provide holiday
essentials for tourists. For a large shopping trip, head into Marbella to the
famous Golden Mile. Here you will find stylish boutiques and designer outlets as
well as the opportunity to buy items such as shoes, bags, jewellery, perfume and
watches. Marbella also has a large shopping centre, La Canada, on the outskirts
of the resort. Fuengirola has an El Cortes Ingles department store and the
Miramar commercial centre for shopaholics to explore. Open air street markets
are held every week and you are sure to pick up a great souvenir at a bargain
price.
Eating out and Nightlife
Cabopino has many restaurants, cafés and bars, particularly in the region of the
small marina. You will find Spanish dishes such as Tapas and paella, as well as
many menus offering food from India, Britain and Italy. Marbella’s Old Town has
some lovely ornate squares where you can sit at one of the cafés and watch the
world go by.
There are no discos or nightclubs in the immediate area of Cabopino; some of the
restaurants and bars located near the marina do have live music and
entertainment of an evening. For those who wish to party until dawn, the short
trip to either Fuengirola or Marbella will provide hundreds of venues to choose
from. A little further to the east of Marbella is
Puerto Banus, which has many nightclubs and discos as well as a casino.
