Aloha
Aloha is an urbanised area that lies inland from the coast, just tucked away
behind the luxurious area of
Puerto Banus. It is an upmarket residential area
which has a range of luxury apartments and villas. It is in close proximity to
the area fondly known as “Golf Valley”; this is where many of the golf and
country clubs are located.
Main Tourist Attractions
This area is predominantly a sports area, providing great opportunities to play
on some of the best golf courses in
Marbella. As well as the exclusive Aloha
Golf Club with an 18 hole course, golfers can enjoy a couple of rounds at Las Brisas and Los Naranjos Golf clubs. There are two beaches in nearby Puerto Banus,
one on each side of the breathtaking marina. Here you can simply relax in the
sun or enjoy some watersports such as jet skiing and parasailing. The marina
itself is intriguing and can hold over 300 beautiful vessels. Puerto Banus also
offers a marine centre where you can feed stingrays and see all kinds of exotic
sea creatures. There is also the opportunity to do activities such as tennis,
badminton and horse riding.
Shopping Opportunities
You will find that there are a few small shows scattered through the Aloha
urbanisation which provide the essentials such as swimwear, sunglasses,
souvenirs, toys, clothing and shoes for locals and residents alike. Shopaholics
will be delighted to take the short trip to Puerto Banus to browse the large
shopping centre there. Puerto Banus also has an open air market, held every
Saturday, where you are sure to be able to pick up a few bargains before heading
home. If Puerto Banus still leaves you wanting more, you can move over to the
Golden Mile in Marbella. Here you will find exclusive shops and boutiques
selling exclusive and designer items.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are several restaurants and cafés within the Aloha district, which are
perfect places to sit down to a meal, Tapas and some wine in the afternoon and
evening. Most of the restaurants serve international cuisine, alongside the
traditional Spanish dishes; including seafood, chicken, pork and paella. The
area surrounding Aloha has a wealth of cafés, restaurants and bars serving
delicious food and offering a fine selection of wine and beers. It will be
almost impossible to find something that does not suit your palate. Some of the
bars have live entertainment for you to enjoy with your drinks.
Aloha is somewhat low key in the evenings maintaining its peaceful and exclusive
feel. If you are looking for somewhere to dance the night away there are discos
and nightclubs aplenty in nearby Puerto Banus. There is also a host of exclusive
restaurants and for those who are feeling lucky, a casino to keep you busy until
the early hours.
