Malaga – Major Traffic Changes
Major traffic changes will be introduced in Málaga, as the construction of the metro goes underway in November. The main road out of the city to the airport, the Carretera de Cadiz, is to have a metro line run underneath it, but during construction it's now known that the seven roads crossing it will be kept open, and parking will still be allowed on waste land nearby. Local EMT bus routes will continue to operate.
Work on the stretch between the RENFE station and the Martín Carpena sports centre will take 28 months and be completed in five stages. A new road will be built between Calle Pacífico and Avenida Moliere, to take a third of the traffic away from Avenida Velazquez.
