Benalmadena – More Buses
The new urban bus services in Benalmadena will begin on the 1st of March next year, and their three routes have now been finalised. The Mayor of Benalmadena, Enrique Bolin, said last week that the new service will mean that 40% more buses will be available, and people should not have to wait so long to catch a bus. At present it is not unusual for passengers to wait up to 40 minutes in the busiest areas of Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Pueblo, but buses on the new urban service will run at frequent intervals.
Route B1 will be circular and will run from Benalmadena Pueblo through Torremuelle, Torrequebrada, Avenida de Las Palmeras, the station at Arroyo de la Miel and the hospital area. The B2 route will cover areas such as the Buddhist stupa, Avenida de la Constitucion, Avenida García Lorca and La Paloma Park, and route B3 will link the leisure port in Benalmadena Costa with Arroyo de la Miel station, via Paloma Park, Avenida Gamonal, Salvador Vicente, Miramar and Santangello Norte. Sr. Bolín also said that new bus routes may be added in the future according to demand.
